Elsewhere Hotel

Elsewhere Hotel, directed by Chouhany, is first and foremost a social commentary on Lebanon’s ever-deteriorating state, presented in a comedic and absurdly surreal context.

The interpretive narrative, combined with the exquisite directorial inputs, particularly the lighting approach, were able to create an intriguing sense of impending doom that captivated me all throughout the film.

Lebanese actor Joseph Maroun completely immersed himself in his role once more. He was able to deliver a convincing performance full of despair and authenticity.

Elsewhere Hotel is a unique reflection of life, full of wit, cynicism, and, most importantly, hope.
